Hands-down, GovernmentAuctions.org had the best listings to fine abandoned, seized, and surplus property and merchandise, and tax sales.

Legitimacy - Just looking at their home page we see they've been featured on CNBC, CBS News, Barrons, and others. There was even a video posted of their CNBC feature. We watched the video - it was NOT a commercial. The company CEO was interviewed on a business show as an expert on buying real estate at auction.

Listings - More seized, surplus and abandoned property than we were able to sort through! Afterall, you're trying to make or save money, you want the largest number of choices. These guys have it.

Contact info - Too many of the auction sites don't provide contact info; again, these guys get it right. Almost every listing has direct contact info: name address, phone number, etc.

Bonus - When we last reviewed the site, they were offering a hotel voucher worth more $300. We grabbed ours and used it. This alone paid for our membership many times over. (Guess which one of us got to use it? One of the benefits of heading the team...!)

GovernmentAuctions.org did not engage in any of the shady or questionable practices we've seen on many of the sites. No automatic re-billing, and no "hidden" charges.

Auctions Pass is one of the very few sites that also scored high in all areas. The only reason they did not get a full 10 rating is that they focus on is that they didn't have all the extra "value-add" information that made GovernmentAuctions.org such a great site - otherwise we are very comfortable with the recommendation

Legitimacy - AuctionsPass is one of the few other sites that has been around a long time. The site provides all they say it does.

Listings - Though not quite as many as GovernmentAuctions.org, we counted many thousands of listings in all the important areas.

Contact info - Good contact info on most listings

Bonus - AuctionsPass is giving away a very well-written ebook when you sign up. We found it to be very informative, especially if you are new to buying at government auctions.
