HIGH
POINT, N.C. (found at FOX
WGHP) - With the help of city officials and federal funds, eight homes
previously in foreclosure have been bought by non-profit group. The non-profit group SHARE (Self-Help and Rewarded Efforts) has purchased eight of the homes that have previously been vacant for several months. SHARE buys the homes and turns them around to sell at a more affordable cost to homebuyers.
"We decided that with all the houses available through the community, we'd go into settled neighborhoods and get the best possible opportunity we can provide to these families," SHARE spokesperson Bill Waller said.
Waller also said that the eight homes purchased were not condemned and are good homes.
"We're buying good properties," said Waller. "These are bank foreclosures, they're not boarded up or condemned. So we're able to put them in like new condition for $10, $15, $20,000."
Waller also said that by buying homes in foreclosure and reselling them it enables the value of existing homes to increase.
Buying Foreclosures, some comments:
Using my (and your) money to do this. Where does the US Constitution say the federal government give them the authority to do this? If a profit is realized, who gets it?
